This Privacy Policy explains how PEIKO (“PEIKO,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you use:
- The ByteEngine Translator / Peiko mobile application for iOS and Android (the “Translator App”)
- The PLLL mobile application for iOS and Android (the “PLLL App”)
- Our related websites, backend services, help pages, firmware services, and support channels
Together, these are referred to as the “Services” or the “Apps.”
Not every section applies equally to both Apps. Where information relates only to the Translator App or the PLLL App, we identify that distinction below.
Please read this Privacy Policy before using the Services. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular activity, we will request that consent separately.
1. Who we are
PEIKO operates the Apps and related Services.
The Translator App is a companion application for Peiko Bluetooth translation earbuds and provides translation, speech, OCR, AI, offline translation, and related features.
The PLLL App is a companion application for compatible smart flashlights and Nova-series devices. It provides account authentication, Bluetooth device discovery and connection, device binding, flashlight controls, alarm and vibration configuration, firmware updates, help, and activity information.
The Apps currently use shared PEIKO authentication infrastructure. Depending on your account configuration, the same PEIKO account may be recognized across more than one PEIKO App.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal data, contact us at support@peiko.cn.
2. Information we collect and process
We process information in the following categories. Some features are optional. If you do not use a feature, we generally do not process the information required only for that feature.
2.1 Account and authentication information
When you register, sign in, reset your password, or manage your account, we may process:
- Email address
- Password or authentication credentials
- Display name or nickname
- Firebase user ID
- Authentication provider and sign-in method
- Authentication tokens and session information
- Profile information supplied by Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, such as your email address, display name, profile photo URL, Apple private relay email address, or provider account identifier
- Account settings and profile changes you choose to make
The current PLLL App requires sign-in to access its main device features. Account creation or sign-in may be optional for some Translator App features.
Authentication is provided through Firebase Authentication. Passwords are processed by Firebase Authentication; we do not intentionally store your plaintext password in our own PEIKO backend.
Google Sign-In may request access to your basic profile and email address. Sign in with Apple may provide your name and email address, depending on your choices and whether Apple has previously provided that information.
Because the Apps use shared authentication infrastructure, account information and account identifiers may be used to recognize your account across participating PEIKO Apps.
2.2 Device, App, and network information
Depending on the App and feature, we may process:
- An App-generated random installation identifier
- Device platform, such as iOS or Android
- Device operating system and system version
- Device model or brand, where required for compatibility or support
- App version and build information
- App language, locale, and related regional settings
- Firebase user ID and authentication status
- IP address and basic network request information
- Request timestamps, request identifiers, response status, and security or error information
- Configuration, help, activity, and firmware-catalog requests
The PLLL App installation identifier is a randomly generated UUID stored on the device. It is not an advertising identifier, IMEI, or hardware serial number.
Our servers, Firebase, firmware hosts, and web-content providers may automatically receive IP addresses and ordinary HTTP request metadata when the Apps connect to them.
2.3 Translator App content
When you use the Translator App’s translation and AI features, we may process:
- Audio and voice: microphone recordings used for speech recognition, transcription, speech translation, or conversation features
- Text: text entered for translation, AI chat, group translation, feedback, or help
- Images: photos taken or selected for camera translation, image translation, OCR, or QR-related features
- Group translation information: messages, display name, language preferences, and related session information
This content is processed to provide the feature you request and may be transmitted to the service providers identified in Section 4.
This subsection applies to the Translator App. The current PLLL App does not use the microphone, camera, or photo library and does not submit flashlight-control data to translation, OCR, speech, or AI providers.
2.4 PLLL Bluetooth accessory and device-binding information
When you use the PLLL App to scan for, connect to, bind, or control a compatible device, the App may process:
- Nearby Bluetooth device name
- Bluetooth identifier, advertised hardware address, or device MAC address
- Advertised Bluetooth service information
- Signal strength and connection status
- Compatible device model
- Device binding and activation status
- Binding or activation time
- Identifier of the most recently connected device
- Device firmware version and upgrade status
- Device battery level and device operating information
- Device temperature readings, where reported by the flashlight
- Device lock status and related configuration state
Bluetooth scan results are generally processed temporarily on the phone to identify compatible nearby devices.
When you bind a compatible device to your account or retrieve your bound-device list, the PLLL App sends information to our backend , which may include:
- Firebase user ID
- Firebase authentication token
- App-generated installation identifier
- Random request identifier
- Platform
- App language
- Device MAC address or stable Bluetooth identifier
- Device model or name
Our backend may return the device model, device identifier, activation time, and binding status associated with your account.
2.5 PLLL controls, alarms, and vibration data
The PLLL App may process control and configuration information such as:
- Lighting mode, brightness, and power state
- Warning-light or flashing settings
- Buzzer status and volume
- Vibration sensitivity and warning thresholds
- Alarm time, timer duration, and reminder type
- Device lock settings
- Firmware version and update status
- Other compatible flashlight operating parameters
These settings and commands are generally exchanged directly between your phone and the connected flashlight over Bluetooth.
When you use vibration-scene calibration, the App receives vibration-event counts from the connected flashlight. The App may temporarily process raw event counts and locally retain derived sample values and thresholds used to configure vibration alerts.
PLLL vibration data:
- Comes from the connected flashlight’s vibration sensor
- Is not a microphone or audio recording
- Is not precise location information
- Is not intended to be health, medical, or fitness data
- Is stored locally unless you separately choose to include it in a support request
We do not transmit PLLL vibration samples or ordinary flashlight-control settings to translation, speech, OCR, or AI providers.
2.6 Local history, preferences, and cached information
Depending on the App, information stored locally may include:
Translator App:
- Translation history and favorites
- Feature preferences
- Cached service configuration
- Temporary audio or image files
- Downloaded offline translation models or language packs
PLLL App:
- App-generated installation identifier
- Cached bound-device list
- Device MAC address, model, and activation time
- Identifier of the most recently connected device
- Vibration-scene samples and thresholds
- Last applied firmware version
- App language and feature preferences
- Temporary firmware package data
- Device-control and connection state
Some PLLL settings may also remain stored on the connected flashlight until they are changed or the device is reset.
Local information generally remains within the App’s private storage. It may be included in operating-system backups depending on your device and backup settings.
2.7 Analytics, diagnostics, and operational logs
For the Translator App, we may process:
- Feature-usage events and product analytics through Firebase Analytics or our backend
- Crash reports and diagnostic logs through Firebase Crashlytics
- Device, App, and error information included in feedback or support requests
The current PLLL App does not integrate Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, an advertising SDK, or a dedicated third-party analytics SDK.
However, Firebase Authentication, our backend, web pages, firmware hosts, and content hosts may create ordinary operational, authentication, security, access, and error logs. These logs may include IP address, request time, endpoint, response status, App identifier, and related technical information.
If you submit feedback or a support request, we process the content you submit and any device, App, account, or diagnostic information you choose to provide.
2.8 Bluetooth-related location permission
On some Android versions, Bluetooth Low Energy scanning is treated by the operating system as a location-related capability. The Apps may therefore declare or request location permission to discover and connect to nearby compatible Bluetooth devices.
We use this permission for Bluetooth compatibility and nearby-device discovery. We do not use it to obtain, store, or profile your precise GPS location.
On iOS, the PLLL App requests Bluetooth access and does not request location permission for its Bluetooth features.
Service providers may infer an approximate region from your IP address when you use an online feature, but we do not intentionally create precise location trails.
2.9 Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not intentionally collect:
- Contacts or address-book information
- Call logs or SMS content
- Health or medical records
- Payment-card information through the Apps
- Precise GPS location trails
- Information about other installed applications
- Advertising identifiers for targeted advertising
The current PLLL App does not access the microphone, camera, photo library, contacts, health data, or notifications.
The Apps currently do not include advertising SDKs used to serve targeted advertisements.
